Have a great summer everyone!Junior Bison Volleyball programs are being delivered by JrB Volleyball inc. which is being overseen by Ken Bentley, Head Coach of the University of Manitoba Women's Volleyball Program and head coach of the Junior Bison Volleyball Program. The Executive Director of the program is Chris Marshall. Chris is responsible for the administration of the program.
Benefits of participating in the Junior Bison mini-volleyball program include the following:
MINI-VOLLEYBALL DEVELOPMENT CAMP & LEAGUE:
Team jersey;
Awards at two separate tournaments (December and March;
Coach and individual athlete awards at club wind-up (April 11, 2010);
Volunteer coaches benefit from a half-price registration fee for their child.
JUNIOR BISON VOLLEYBALL HIGHLIGHTS:
Ken Bentley, Head Coach of the Bisons will host coaching clinics for coaches and assist coaches with preparing for their season;
A standardized code of conduct for all coaches and athletes - both club and youth league;
All mini-volleyball coaches are members of the University of Manitoba Booster Club with VIP access to all University Volleyball matches;
All indoor league participants receive a season pass to University matches;
Team outings to university matches and/or local sponsors.
MINI-VOLLEYBALL:
For children 6-11 years of age;
Fair play - participants rotate after each side-out;
Fall Session is a Development Camp with Certified instructors, Winnter is League-Play; Spring Session is a Skills Camp with instructors;
All sessions held Saturday mornings at River Osborne Community Club, 101 Pembina Hwy.;
Development program with four levels of play;
Each session ends with a tournament and with team awards;
Players are separated according to ability, not only their age;
Teams are tiered for the winter session so that athletes play against others of their ability;
Matches are a race to 25 - win by 2. Making for very exciting match play.
